Phnom Penh City tour

This tour combines the attractions of the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum. Visit the Royal Palace, which was built in 1866 by King Norodom. The Palace is actually a number of structures within a pagoda-style compound. Silver Pagoda located within the Royal Palace compound, the name is caused by its floor, which is made of 5,000 silver tiles. The treasures are a solid gold Buddha encrusted with 9,584 diamonds and weighing 90kilos and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. Next visit the National Museum, which houses Khmer art especially sculptures, from different periods of Cambodian history, 19th century dance costumes, royal barges and palanquins. A visit is also made to Tuol Tom Pong market, known by many as the Russian market, before returning to the hotel.

Colonial Architecture in Phnom Penh

Take a guided stroll through the former French Colonial Quarter, lunch by the Tonle Sap River and continue to other buildings of historical note. Central Post Office, Central Police Station, Bank and former Chamber of Commerce, National Library, Railway Station, Ministry of Finance.

This tour combines the attractions of the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum. A visit is also made to Tuol Tom Pong market, known by many as the Russian market, before stopping for lunch at one of the many local restaurants along the Tonle Sap waterfront.

In the afternoon, visit Tuol Sleng, the former detention centre of the Khmer Rouge, and now a museum standing testament to their horrific crimes. Thereafter drive south of the city to Choeung Ek, known to many as the Killing Fields. It is here that mass graves were found after the Khmer Rouge were driven from power in 1979.

Phnom Da & Tonle Bati

Visit Phnom Da, a temple which was constructed on a small mountain. It was built in the 6th century by the King Rut Trak Varman. Phnom Da is one of the ancient historical places in Cambodia. Continue to visit Tonle Bati (Ta Phrom’s temple), from the 12th century, as well as Yeay Peau. Ta Phrom is a very beautiful temple maintained well with flowers and trees. It was built by the King Jayavarman VII on the place of a sanctuary of the 7th century.

Uodong

Operated: Daily, Full day

Transfer to Uodong by National Road N0 5. Oudong, was an ancient capital from the later stages of the Khmer Empire and crowning site of the. Udong offers spectacular views of the surrounding country and the innumerable sugar palm trees that punctuate the countryside. King Ang Dung, the great grandfather of the present king; King Sihanouk, was crowned here and many locals and foreign residents alike picnic here on weekends.
