Monique has held a variety of senior management roles in the travel industry. She joined Destination Asia from the Destination Management division of Hotelbeds Group where she was Global Sales and Marketing Director based in Bangkok. Prior to the 10 year tenure at Hotelbeds Group where she held various regional positions, Monique was the Director / Head of FIT at Pacific World based in Hong Kong, and before that was the Head of Hotels and Strategic Development with Hutchinson – Priceline.
She has also worked as Regional Manager and Business Development Manager at the Marriott International Asia Pacific regional office in the JW Marriott hotel Hong Kong.
James Reed, co-founder and CEO of Destination Asia is responsible for the overall management of the Destination Asia Group, alongside its vision and strategic planning. Jim works closely with management in each of the 11 destinations to ensure the group is delivering the absolute pinnacle of service to our international clientele. He also regularly consults with Destination Asia’s key customers to ascertain new trends in our varied source markets.
The expansion of the Group from two countries to the now 11 is representative of Jim’s insight into the demand for a truly pan-Asia DMC and a future that includes a broad range of inter-disciplinary market segments, matched with unique products and pioneering online technology.
Nicholas Mulley is the Chief Operating Officer of the Destination Asia Group and was promoted to his current position after serving as the Managing Director of our Greater China operations.
An Australian national, Nicholas graduated from UNSW as a qualified commercial pilot with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation. Nicholas became the GM of our Burma company in Rangoon in 2002 and then moved to Vietnam where he was Business Development and Operations Manager until his transfer to Beijing.
Nicholas said: “I have always believed that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. I have been so fortunate to experience living and working in three very different Asian countries and cultures. In Asia, I have an opportunity to do something I love, every day of the week.”
Katie Buxton worked with Destination Asia Group for more than seven years in the position of General Manager (Hong Kong) before assuming the role of Global Director of Sales. An Australian national, Katie provides leadership and strategic direction for Destination Asia’s worldwide sales network. In addition to her management and customer service capability, Katie possesses excellent communication skills and an extensive track record of developing initiatives to increase market share.

Jirawan (Aey), has been a key member of Destination Asia Group since joining the company in 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. Graduating with an MBA from Loyola University in Chicago, Aey has business acumen in the fields of banking, hospitality and the travel sector. With over 15 years’ experience in finance and accounting and 7 years of practice in a regional finance role, Aey has been instrumental in driving forward our finance team from the head officein Bangkok.

Chutchawan or ‘Moo’, is the Group IT Director of the Destination Asia Group. He joined Destination Asia Thailand as the IT Manager in 2011 and was promoted to Group IT Manager in his second year. Moo graduated from South Bank University, London, in 1998 with an MSc in Telecommunication and Network Engineering. His genuine interest and passion for IT has led him to a life-long career in the technology field.
