Pattaya Excursions
Elephant Village
Operated: Daily, 13:30–16:30 hrs. (afternoon only)
This fascinating attraction has been a sanctuary since 1973 for elephants no longer able to work in the jungles of Thailand. Consequently, it is not only entertaining and educational – it also improves the elephant’s lives. The show demonstrates the interaction between animal and human as the jumbos enjoy forestry skills training. The elephants are incredibly fleet footed, demonstrated when they display their silky football skills. You will be amazed at the power and precision of these gigantic beasts as they haul heavy objects, and be equally entertained by the clowning around of both young and old elephants as they take their daily bath. The show concludes with a colorful re-enactment of an elephant war parade to show how the pachyderms were used on battlefields in ancient Siam.
Nong Nooch Village & Show
Operated: Daily, 08:30–13:30 or 13:30–17:30 hrs.
Nong Nooch Village is a multifaceted attraction that offers an insight into Thai culture and native flora and fauna in a stunning tropical setting. Set in beautifully landscaped botanical gardens with native orchids and the fragrance of millions of flowers, visitors can visit one of the main attractions; the zoo. Another option is the elephant show to see the gentle giants perform activities such as playing football and even a tug-of-war for anyone who wants to pit their strength against a mighty jumbo. A large Thai cultural centre complex showcases traditional Thai homes; Thai martial arts performances; ethnic hill tribe dances; a Thai wedding; and a Buddhist ordination ceremony. This is a massive attraction that caters for all tastes and interests. Excellent restaurants offer Chinese, Western, Thai and Korean cuisine.
Flight Of The Gibbon Treetop Adventure (Including Lunch Or Dinner)
Operated: Daily, 08:00–16:00 or 12:30–20:30 hrs.
Situated in the heart of one of Thailand’s most stunning natural settings, ‘Flight of the Gibbon’ allows adventure seekers to soar above the majesty of Thailand’s rainforest like never before. High in the tree tops of this pristine national park, adventurers glide through the jungle canopy, via three-km of thrilling wire zip-lines, scenic sky bridges and adrenalin-inducing abseils that are connected by 24 platforms. The views are second to none, with a spectacular ocean vista one minute and tropical jungle the next. This is the largest canopy zip-line park in the world and should not be missed.
NB: This activity is not suitable for children below six years of age or less than 100cm in height. Guests must be at least 30kg (66 lb.) and not more than 130kg (286 lb.). Suitable attire: long pants and T-shirt/polo shirt, sports or other shoes that will not fall off easily.
Paradise Island (Koh Samet)
Operated: Daily, 07:30–17:30 hrs.
A full-day excursion to the tropical island of Koh Samet takes us to some of the whitest beaches in Thailand. The island is situated in the National Park so development has been restricted. Relaxation is the main activity, so this is the ideal place to ‘recharge the batteries’ in an idyllic setting. As the island is traffic-free, it is also the perfect destination for those seeking relaxation in a hammock, a cozy restaurant, or beach side bar. However, if you tire of sunbathing, other activities are available such as windsurfing or snorkeling. Another option is a lazy stroll along Hat Sai Kaew and the adjoining beaches that stretch to the tip of the island. Lunch in a beachside restaurant is included. (Bring a hat, sunscreen, swimming costume, long-sleeve cotton shirt and sun umbrella.)
Cabaret Show
Operated: Nightly, 18:30, 20:00 or 21:30 hrs.
It is no secret that Pattaya has made good of its long time love affair with lady boys. These two theatres showcase the most stunning performers in extravagant costumes on spectacular stage sets. Both Alcazar and Tiffany’s offer a bevy of professional divas presenting artistic impersonations, backed by fantastic light and sound systems one would expect in world class theatres. Alcazar Cabaret Show has been thrilling audiences for over 20 years and is a Pattaya institution. With over 28 years in existence, Tiffany’s ranks among the most dazzling shows in Thailand. Both performances offer fun-filled sets that alternate between pathos and comedy. You haven’t truly experienced Pattaya if you haven’t experienced one of these hugely entertaining shows.
