River Cruising in Thailand
Thailand is blessed with numerous rivers both within its borders and along its borders such as the mighty Mekong River bordering Laos. There are several river cruising options worth noting and some of these are listed below.
Legendary River Cruise
Spend a day and night on an old converted rice barge cruising the Chaophraya River and visiting Ayuthaya. The tour may be taken upstream or downstream between Bangkok and Ayuthaya. See old ruins, riverside life and relax on board your teak wood launch.
RV River kwai
A colonial style river cruiser conjuring images of Huckleberry Finn but cruising the world famous River Kwai and taking in all the best of the historical sites such as the famous ?Bridge over the River Kwai?, Hellfire Pass and Donrak War Cemetery. This is a truly emotive experience and one not to be missed. Three nights aboard the RV River Kwai will be a lifetime memory.
Mekong River Cruise
On board a typical Mekong River boat this is a journey not to be missed. Travelling between Huay Xai opposite Chiang Khong in Thailand and Luang Prabang in Laos, this trip is a must do for any river loving traveller. The boats are fully equipped with safety equipment and a well stocked bar. Overnight will be at Luang Say Lodge near the small village of Pak Beng half way between Luang Prabang and Huay Xai.
