Destination Asia Signs MOU with Hotel Resilient to Support More Sustainable Hotel Engagement

Hotel Resilient

Destination Asia is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Hotel Resilient, supporting the company’s ongoing commitment to responsible travel and more transparent supplier engagement across Asia.

The collaboration will help Destination Asia strengthen the way it reviews sustainability information from hotel partners across its portfolio. Through Hotel Resilient’s shared data platform, hotels can provide information on their sustainability practices, supported by relevant evidence or recognised certifications where applicable.

This partnership also helps reduce duplication for hotel partners. Where a hotel has already shared its sustainability information through the platform with another DMC or tour operator, Destination Asia can access the available data without asking the hotel to repeat the same process. This supports a more efficient and collaborative approach between Hotel Resilient, Destination Asia, hotels, and other travel partners.

As accommodation forms an important part of the travel experience, access to clearer and more consistent sustainability information will support Destination Asia in making better-informed supplier decisions. It will also help identify hotel partners that are taking practical steps to improve their operations over time.

“Working with Hotel Resilient gives us a practical way to strengthen sustainability engagement within our hotel portfolio. It supports greater transparency, reduces repetitive requests for our partners, and encourages a more collaborative approach across the travel industry,” said Laddawan Yonthantham, Group Sustainability Manager at Destination Asia.

Trevor Girard, Head of Partnerships and Standards at Hotel Resilient remarked, “We are delighted to welcome Destination Asia to the Hotel Resilient partner network. Their commitment to responsible tourism and strong relationships with hotels across Asia make them an ideal partner in our shared effort to improve sustainability across the tourism sector.”

The MOU forms part of Destination Asia’s wider sustainability journey, including its efforts to strengthen supplier management, improve evidence-based decision-making, and support more responsible travel options for clients and partners.
