The route includes St. George’s Church, the oldest Anglican church in Southeast Asia, and the Goddess of Mercy Temple, an enduring Taoist site. Visits to Sri Mahamariamman Temple and Khoo Kongsi reveal Hindu and Chinese traditions through intricate craftsmanship, while the Pinang Peranakan Mansion introduces the lifestyle of the Peranakan, or Straits Chinese, community. Along the way, everyday street scenes unfold, with opportunities to sample local breakfast dishes that reflect Penang’s well-established culinary culture.
