Cruise Coordinator

About this role

As a Cruise Operations Coordinator, you will support the planning and delivery of shore excursion programs for cruise passengers visiting Japan. Working closely with suppliers, port stakeholders, and cruise partners, you will coordinate operational arrangements, oversee on-the-ground execution, and help ensure every port call runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and confirm bookings for hotels, guides, transportation, restaurants, and other services required for cruise shore excursion programs.
  • Support the onsite execution of cruise operations while vessels are in port, ensuring all services are delivered according to plan.
  • Manage operational bookings and reservations for client itinerary programs, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail throughout the process.
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing with suppliers to secure competitive and high-quality services.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure all operational arrangements meet client expectations and Destination Asia’s service standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, port officials, ship agents, and cruise partners.
  • Assist the Cruise Manager or Cruise Director with operational planning, coordination, and administrative tasks as required.
  • Monitor service delivery and proactively resolve operational issues to ensure a seamless guest experience.

What we’re looking for

  • A proactive and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, with the ability to interact confidently with clients, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and other business systems.
  • Previous experience in tourism, cruise operations, hospitality, administration, or a related field is advantageous.
  • A degree in Tourism, Business, Hospitality, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience working in the tourism or cruise industry is a plus, but not essential for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
