Explore Indonesia’s sacred side in South Bali

Bali’s spiritual traditions take centre stage during an immersive South Bali experience focused on reflection, wellbeing and the island’s enduring Hindu culture.

Guided by a respected Balinese healer and a pemangku, or Hindu priestess, guests begin in a traditional family compound. Here, they dress in temple attire and learn about Asta Kosala Kosali, the traditional philosophy governing the sacred layout and harmony of Balinese homes. Ceremonial objects and offerings provide further insight into local healing practices and religious beliefs.

The experience then continues to a sacred cave temple nestled within South Bali’s cliffs. Guests learn about melukat, a traditional purification ritual using holy spring water, before joining a guided prayer and making simple offerings.

Inside the cave temple at Beji Telaga Waja, flowing water forms the centrepiece of a cleansing ceremony symbolising purification of body, mind and spirit.

Rather than simply observing Balinese spirituality, the experience offers a respectful opportunity to engage with traditions that remain integral to everyday island life, revealing a side of Bali extending far beyond its beaches and resorts.
