In Kota Kinabalu, the Borneo traditional brass workshop offers a direct encounter with a craft deeply connected to the heritage of Sabah’s Tobilung community.
Skilled artisans introduce guests to the processes involved in moulding brassware and engraving traditional motifs inspired by nature and local beliefs. The techniques are used to produce everything from decorative objects and bangles to intricately worked metal art, with the craft itself closely intertwined with community rituals, celebrations and social identity.
