Destination Asia Japan is excited to introduce 22 new tours to its Japan portfolio for 2027, combining fresh takes on familiar destinations with a stronger focus on lesser-known regions and local traditions.

In Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, new family-friendly options include rickshaw rides through Arashiyama’s bamboo groves and Asakusa’s streets, plus hands-on kendo samurai training. Further afield, guests can explore Arimatsu’s celebrated shibori dyeing tradition from Nagoya or embark on a Zen-inspired journey to Awaji Island.

Okinawa features a tour examining the lifestyle of one of the world’s recognised Blue Zones (an area famous for people living to 100 or older), while a responsible travel experience on the Noto Peninsula combines a farm-to-table lunch by a Michelin-starred chef with traditional lacquerware activities, supporting an area still recovering from the 2024 earthquake.

Other additions range from Kochi and Takamatsu in Shikoku to Kyushu, where guests can make wooden bento boxes or explore Karatsu’s pottery heritage. Two new Nagasaki excursions round out a collection spanning tea, temples, traditional townscapes and local sake.

Together, the new tours offer fresh ways to delve deeper into Japan in 2027.
