One of the world’s most extraordinary pieces of transport infrastructure becomes a running track in November 2026 with the return of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Half Marathon.
Held on the Hong Kong section of the world’s longest sea-crossing bridge-tunnel system, the race has earned World Athletics Platinum Label status and attracts both elite athletes and recreational runners from around the world.
This year’s event expands to accommodate 10,000 participants and introduces a new 10km category, opening the experience to a wider range of runners. The route provides a rare chance to travel across part of the 55-kilometre Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on foot, accompanied by sweeping views over the Pearl River Estuary and Greater Bay Area.
The setting is what truly distinguishes the event. Combining competitive sport with one of Asia’s most ambitious engineering achievements, the race offers international visitors an unusual way to experience Hong Kong while joining a major sporting occasion. For runners looking for their next destination race, few courses can boast quite such a spectacular backdrop.
