What to Expect:

From Luang Prabang, head upriver into the Nam Et-Phou Louey National Park and enjoy a campfire dinner before embarking on night-time spotlight-search looking for wild and endangered animals, such as sambar deer, civets, spotted linsang, Asian golden cats, leopard cats, pythons, and many more. During the day, drift upstream while birdwatching and spotting Blyth’s kingfishers, red jungle fowl, and mountain hawk eagles, or follow the National Park’s guide on a short optional hike around the camp to learn about the medical plans and history of the area, as well as to visit the nearby ranger substation. This adventurous journey not only offers opportunities to view rare wildlife in Laos but also supports alternative livelihoods for locals and generates community support for the conservation of tigers and other wildlife.
